Hello friends, I just wanted to share a few songs I had the opportunity to play some harmonica on recently. My dear friend and singer song-writer Eric Hunker came out to Denver to record at my studio. I ended up laying down all the bass and electric guitar for the album and managed to sneak some harmonica into the album taboot!
I hope you will take the time to listen. The first track that has some harp is "Stay" which opens with a little taste, has a solo in the center, and I play some harp out at the end. The second song "She's the one" features a darker minory/dominanty type solo at the end. Please enjoy!
Here are the embeded tunes.
STAY
SHE'S THE ONE ; harp solo at 2:50

if you like the music you can find and purchase the rest of the album at http://erichunker.bandcamp.com/
TLDR: I played harmonica on an album and I have embedded them here for you to listen to.

That was easy to listen to. I like what you did on harp. Was that a pedal steel in the background on Stay? Very tasteful. Thanks!

Very nice all around. Pro level work obviously. Recording , production and the harmonica on she's the one is really good. Give us the details about that solo please, - harp, position, etc. thanks

Thanks everyone for the kind words! It means so much to me that you're enjoying the music :)
@orphan: That is actually a lap steel you're hearing that we picked up at the pawn shop exclusively for this recording lol
@Ryan: Too bad we never go to hook up back in PA. As of November I am living in Denver, CO. If I ever venture back east I will let you know!
@bonedog: I used an A harmonica for this song. Its hard to say what position this song is played in. The songs is in the Key of D so some might say 2nd position however I lean more toward 3rd position phrasing so Bm. The chords I solo over are D F#7 Bm G A. The A# in the F#7 chord is not a note found in the B minor or D major scales so you have to deviate a little to make it work. But it allows for some awesome sounding stuff.
For anyone wanting to mess around with this chord progression I would recommend playing the Bm blues scale but add in the A# between the minor 7th (A) and the root to get some funky sounding licks. You can try it on and E harp or an A harp. I like the A because its a lot lower and fatter sounding. The D harp will yield you some really cool results also.
