As far as I know, HarpNinja is the only one on the forum that has the G5 FX. I am wondering what it sounds like. There isn't one in any of the stores around here to try. Mike, did you at one time have an Eventide for rotary? Other than the Digitech RP, what is available and harp friendly for the rotary effect?

I've played through the Boss RT-20, and as far as rotary pedals are concerned, I haven't played through anything that comes even close. I also play my B3 through it when my leslie is not available...it's an incredible pedal; I just have never been too into effects when I play harp.

If you got the cash there is nothing better than the Neo Instruments Ventilator... in a pedal anyway.

I know a harp player who uses a Pod, and gets a very good rotary effect.

Good question HarpNinja! The Neo Ventilator @ $499.99 kinda sucks the air out of me. I have never tried one out so I don't know if the sound it delivers is worth it or not. I was able to try a used DLS RotoSim priced @ $199.99. It was not harp friendly at all. Could be the unit was not working properly. Also, like the Boss RT they only do one effect:Rotary/Leslie simulation.
That is why I was curious about the G5 or other FX processors that have Rotary. I have been using the Rotary on a Peavey Max 100 processor for a long time. It does the job but I would like something with more parameters than it has.
So if I tried out a Leslie/Rotary stomp box that was quite a bit more convincing than what is available on the current FX processors and I just had to have it... I could see spending $500. I think for the amount of songs I am using the Rotary effect on now, that would be extravagant. If something like the G5 would sound better than what I have now that would work.

The Line 6 one works fine for harp. I actually liked it although guitar players don't. The Eventide, which I tried a couple of years ago, is good, but expensive.
The Digitech is pretty good.
I am unaware of any multi-fx rotaries sounding top-tier. I think the stand alones: Ventilator, Styrom Lex, old Rotosphere, etc, sound the best. ---------- Custom Harmonicas Optimized Harmonicas

Oh, yeah, the Zoom G5 rotary is pretty cool. I don't think it's fast is as fast as others...I dunno, something sounds unique about it. I will try to record it tonight. There is also a organ patch you can add to it...pretty cool. ---------- Custom Harmonicas Optimized Harmonicas

Yeah, I saw the organ patch when I was looking at the manual online. Does the foot pedal increase the rotary speed more and more as you depress it?

Good question. I will have to look. I just always leave it on fast and know for sure you can control the mix level with the footswitch.

You can control whether it is fast or slow, but it is either one or the other. You can "ramp" with it.
