The DORTEL harps are pieces of art and worth the price .

I don't own a Golden Melody from Dortel yet. I just thought the picture was too beautiful not to share!

@Gnarly - He designs the front of the cover plates to extend out just far enough to cover the exposed front edges of the reed plates, which makes his harps extremely comfortable to play. They really are works of art as jiceblues says.

If you got to this page http://worldofharmonica.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/woh-gear-guide-dortel-harmonicas.html#!/2012/02/woh-gear-guide-dortel-harmonicas.html there are other pictures where you can see the reed plates . . .

I don't know what to tell ya, Gnarly. This isn't my harp so I don't know - maybe it doesn't have reed plates in it? I just know that on the 2 Crossovers he made me, the cover plates extend over the front edge of the reed plates, which is a good feature for those who don't like the feel of exposed reed plates.

The only thing prettier than the way they look is they way Todd plays 'em.

Hey Todd--
My guess is that this harmonica was photographed without reed plates.
I would not expect that he ships them without reeds or plates.
Thanks for sharing, it does look nice.
PS You rock!
