Harp-er, it's not a video it's a picture of a video. You can see embossing has been done to the reed slot. This picture may be worth 1000 words but 1000 words could help us see that, lol.

Ah. Thanks Ryan. Yes, a few words of explanation would have been helpful. For me, the picture by itself doesn't do much.

So you bevel the edges of the reed and the slot? Is the tip beveled too? Another novice question, What does this accomplish, what is its purpose?

The place near the rivet where the light does not come through is microscope-grade embossing done with a scalpel at 30-50X zoom.

The rest of the slot is regular embossing for comparison

The narrower the slot = the more responsive it plays.
