Our friend Bigtone has an Airline amp listed on the For Sale page. A quick look shows one transformer and a fairly thin looking power cord. Does that mean there's any potential personal safety issues? If yes, can they be overcome?

Really nice-I love these old tube practice amps-I have too many myself kicking around the house ,cause I can't resist them.
Enjoyed your playing. but really would like to hear more of this amp clean without all the delay just as a kind of benchmark on the amp tone to compare against others of this class.
Cheers

Thanks fellas. Point well taken Goldbrick. Though the delay doesn't really alter the fundamental tone, - I could see where you'd want to hear a sample with nothing but the mic straight in. Switching mic.s wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I wanted to do a tad of actual playing through the amps, as opposed to a few sample licks. That's easier to do if I use a set up that turns me on and makes me want to play, - hence the delay. I will put some clean samples on future 'harp amp basement' segments though, and perhaps try some different mic.s too.

@Smoke - I don't remember the last time I actually opened this amp up - maybe never. The schematic I found does show a PT as well as an OT. The transformer on the lower chassis does look pretty puny for a PT though. - I've never gotten zapped.

@smokejs

The chord on the airline is an upgraded three prong. I have never been shocked and I think I own 5 or 6 of the small amps with no isolation transformer. That doesn't mean it can not happen. A lot of people I know will buy the transformer online and install it for around $30 or less. But like I said I have never been shocked and I run it though my bassman a lot too. They work great with the bassman make it break up quicker and dirtier.
