I went with my wife and another couple to the new designated blues bar downtown (while the old blues bar is being renovated) to see one of our local really good harp players celibrate his birthday playing/recording a gig with a great backing band. We danced our brains out. Had a great time. Really nice bar.
But during the proceedings I had a first. A fellow across the table from me turned out to be a beginning harp player and then another beginning harp player, who said he recognized me from jamming a few weeks straight at another club last fall, came over and introduced himself. We ended up talking a bit of harp shop with me as the grizzeled old pro. Very odd experience. Kind of liked it.
