Greetins, I dug one of my old amps out today that I've never gotten up and running. Never tested at all. That's near criminal but it was where I couldn't get to it, for a long time.
I don't know much about it but I did read Rick's blog that had an older one, I think anyway.

Also, as side note, I've never played the Champ in the background. I knew it was a 59 but decided to look closer (again, these have been out of reach for awhile).

Yep, I played a Gibson Lancer a couple years ago and was just blown away with its wonderful sound. A great amp. Much better than the Fender Deluxe amp of the same vintage, which I directly compared side-to-side.

That Gibson looks as though it had it's filter caps replaced. In the second pic you can see three big caps being secured by what looks like RTV.

I have had a couple of these over the years and i agree with Rick on this most of these old Gibsons shine right past a Deluxe or Princeton etc.. and for the money you cannot beat them. I'd rather have 5 of those gibson than a Deluxe any day. Sweet amps that white one sure is nice too!!
