Is that right? those tube are the same? Why the diferent name if so?
and, if they are the same, I can replace a ECC83 for a 5751 or 12AT7?

Yes that's correct. I seem to recall that the values are as follows:
ECC83 = 12AX7 ECC82 - 12AU7 ECC81 = 12AT7
Yes, in most cases you can replace an ECC83 for a 5751 or 12AT7 if it's a preamp valve. Mark Burness will hopefully see this thread and weigh in with more in-depth technical advice.

ECC numbers are European nomenclature, 12A#7 is US. There are US military designated 12A#7 tubes too, such as a low noise 12AX7 like the 7025, or 6072A/12AY7...in fact the 5751 is basically a ruggedised, low noise, military 12AX7. The military designations aren't quite so relevant today, some current producers try and cover as many bases with one tube (though they may still be good tubes, don't get too hung up on what they are called).
A 12AX7 can be subbed for 5751 or 12AT7 safely in any amp that I am aware of. ---------- www.myspace.com/markburness

I bought a new amp, a Laney LG12r (It was a very good deal), and it came whit 3xECC83. So now I can put my Jan Phillips 5751 in the new amp, and that is great!
