Hello harpplayers,
it's been a long time since I wrote at this forum... I have been bussy checking 'my' dutch bluesharp forum.
Today I was looking at all the differend lonewolf effect pedals, and I was wondering what pedal(s) could be usefull for me.
I play bluesharp trough an EV re-10 mic, a boss dd-2 delay, and a Marble Bluesonic 15w amp.
What pedal would be interesting to 'fatten up' my tone ? Ore to create a dirty sound at low volume ?
Are some of the pedals good to use together ?
I hope some of you have good experience with lonewolf pedals, ore other effects for bluesharp.
Thanx alot, Arnoud

I really like the LW Octave pedal for what you are talking about. Don't let the name of the pedal fool you. Listen to the examples of that pedal in use -- see if you like that particular type of "dirt." I tend to use it with larger amps than you are talking about (because smaller amps will break up on their own at lower volume than larger), but I suppose if you want any size amp to fatten up when not pushed, the Octave pedal would do the trick -- the Octave also has some feedback fighting, but that's probably not relevant for playing your amp at lower volume. (I have not tried the LW Harp Break or Attack for this purpose, so can't speak to that -- you might love them, some do - may depend on your amp, I'm not familiar with your amp.) Also, I really like the Tone+ for amps that are not harp-specific -- makes them less trebley and fatter -- this one is not about "dirt." I hope that helps.

I'm a novice pedal user. I use the Tone+ with a Roland Cube Street, and it fattens the tone considerably. I've just ordered the Harp Attack with the hope of getting an overdriven sound out of my Bassman without blowing the windows out of my house. I would use it with a digital delay.

Thanx guys, I also contacted Randy from Lonewolf Blues Company, with the same question and I think the Harp Attack is my best option. It's to bad I can't test theme myself, but the references are very good !

I forgot to mention that Randy has a good return policy, so you actually could try a couple (and return the one(s) that you don't want). Might be worth the shipping cost.
Edited: There is also a Lone Wolf forum where Randy's pedals are discussed (in case you have not checked it out): Lone Wolf Forum

I like the LW Octave. While it does add an element of clipping, which I like, it also fattens up the sound. So I will use it sometimes even though I am already pushing the amp to breakup, just to get that extra edge to the sound. Depends on the song of course, its only appropriate in some cases. I like the LW Delay too. It does what I want from a delay, I'm not convinced its the "best" but I'm not dissatisfied. I didn't really like the harp break. But I realise it was just not what I needed at the time. I always had my amp cranked, looking for extra volume, and the harp break is i think about getting a broken up sound from an amp which is not being pushed hard. So for me it was redundant. ----------

Thanx for the replays !
I just found out that there are lonewolf pedals for sale in Europe so that makes it possible to try at lower costs. (I live in The Netherlands)
I used the wrong words: 'fatten up' means more Bass, but that's not the issue. I want more crunch, more overdrive at low volume...and I want to have differend sounds for differend songs/solo's in my band,
Maybe a lonewolf pedal is the right answer, but how about a smaller amp on stage (VHT special 6) together with my bigger amp, the smaller amp has to have more volume so it will sound more chrunchy, I could swich when needed...
There is also a person who is selling his Harmonica pre-amp CM (made in Englang in the 80's) , does anybody knows this item ??
Thanx for sharing your ideas ! Arnoud
