I am eager to begin having fun with pedals, but where should I begin? Here is my situation:
After about 3 years of nothing but acoustic playing, I have begun to venture into the electric harp world (looking for that Chicago-style sound I suppose). I use a Greg Huemann Bulletized Ultimate 57 mic into a solid state Roland CUBE Street portable amp using a z-matching transformer. Except for a few octaves/splits and an occasional tongue slap or pull, I mostly lip block. I am on Greg’s waiting list for a Kalamazoo amp. By the end of this year, I plan to muster enough courage to play outside of my house; the venues will be someone else’s house party and/or a small local bar with a capacity of about 50 patrons. I have watched many demos of the myriad of pedals, but I am a little overwhelmed with the options. I am intrigued by the Lone Wolf products, especially the Harp Attack, Break, and Delay models, but I am open to other suggestions.
With this background in mind, what pedal should I buy as my introduction to Pandora’s Pedal Box?
Thanks in advance.

Delay. I like the Lone Wolf, but there are others and some cheaper that work well. ----------

The Roland already has a digital delay. I use a Lone Wolf Tone+ with it, and it improves the tone somewhat, for me. I would like to try a Harp Break or Attack as apparently you can plug directly into a PA with these pedals. That's attractive to me as I have a difficult time getting the Bassman up the basement steps. You probably need no pedals at all with the K'zoo, but I will leave that to more authoritative commentators.

A LW Tone+ is a very good choice. (The less eficient replace for it will be a EQ pedal)
A good delay, LW, or another (I hear that the Joyo pedals are very good)
If you dont like the way your amp distort, then a Harp Breack or a Harp Attack.
If only you want to experiment whit sounds, buy a Digitech RPxxx.

My favorite pedal is the MXR Carbon Copy Delay. So much a favorite, I own 3 of them. I feel it takes the dryness out of my sound and also is versatile enough to get pretty crazy with when the mood strikes. They can be gotten economically used,($60-$80) if patience is one of your virtues.

Boss DD3 delay. Solid choice and can be had for less than $100. on ebay. I had the loan Wolf and sold it. It was a well made pedal but the delay time and repeats were limited. Mike

MXR Carbon Copy analog delay pedal. It sounds way better than all the digital delays. Warm with a nice organic decay on the tails.

Compression. It make you sound more thick.
