I have come to the conclusion that mb1896 replacement reedplates have not been available because the covers are still nailed....I have proven to myself that I can replace reedplates as long as there are screws instead of nails....but there is one forum member who offers these that are tested for playability....I just dont want to deal with nails....I am convinced they would leak like hell after I got through with them

The only difference between MB and MBD reed plates are the fact that the MB's are nailed together, but other than that, they're the same thing.
