There was a tribute to James Cotton at the House of Blues in Boston last night. Unfortunately I was too STUPID to go. I figured the wife didn't want to head to Boston on a work night. Of course, when she found out about the show at 10:00 p.m. she said she would have loved to have gone. UGH!
The show was done for a benefit for Rell Blues Fest, an organization that, among other things, raises money for musician's health care. I consider it a very worthwhile charity so please look it up if you're so inclined.
In this video James Montgomery and Kim Wilson join Mr. Cotton along with a guitar and bass player. The bass player is Mike Kelly, who is the brother of Matt Kelly of the Dropkick Murphys as well as the cousin of a good friend of mine.
The show featured so many great musicians such as Montgomery, Wilson, Huey Lewis, Jay Geils, etc. Also, a young sax player named Grace Kelley. I've never seen Grace but she is supposed to be amazing. She also happens to be the daughter of one of my clients.
Enjoy the video. I can't watch it anymore because I just want to shoot myself for not attending!

Always a Randian in the mix...
Dude, not to pile on, but you SHOULD have gone. That looked like it was a great time. Hopefully they will post the whole thing on line so at least you can see it.

Gee, Thanks KingoBad...lol. I found out about the show around 3:00 and just didn't "react" properly.
And, a "Randian", not quite a disciple but certainly respect a lot of her work and principles.
