I found this old tube amp on ebay, the Kay 703c. It's got great sound for the harp but I find that it lacks power or maybe its reverb or echo, delay??? I know Adam uses one of these but I believe he uses a bullet mic. with it. I'm just wondering what I can do to improve the sound, besides me just becoming a better player of coarse. Is it the bullet mic? is it the tubes? can the tubes be changed? do I need some sort of effects pedal with this amp.? HELP Thanks to everyone for all of the great input on previous topics, you guys are great!

I looked at an 803 to buy. The tone was killer, but it wouldn't even fill my living room with stage volume levels. It was only 4 watts i think, but the little speaker probably has a lot to do with the volume. My valve junior is only 5 watts..not a significant difference. I run it into 2 12 inch jensens in an open backed cabinet. Thos 5 watts will reach earbleed levels (not literally, but plenty loud) and provide plenty of stage volume...up to 114dbc measured at 1m. I mic mine into the PA for bigger rooms. The little Kay amps really sound good. Some fresh tubes might bring it back to life.

Adam uses a shure dynamic mic, which is Shure PE5H, not a bullet at all, but a high impedance mic.
