Guys, I have a little practice/recording studio in my basement. The temperature down there is a consistent 60 degrees F. I'd like to leave my acoustic guitar and harps down there, because it's a real drag lugging everything up and down every day. I'm just afraid of damaging my instruments at that temperature.
What do you think? thanks.

The instruments will be fine in that temperature. They won't get damaged at all.

Harmonicas will be fine. The only issue may be the acoustic guitar when you bring it out of the basement and return it, as this changes the temperature and humidity surrounding this wood based instrument, so expect a little expansion, contraction of the wood fibers affecting the tuning.
Remember, a constant and stable temp/humidity is great for all acoustic instruments as long as the constant is a reasonable one. ---------- The Iceman

basements have a tendency to have high humidity....you might want to use a dehumidifier....just sayin`

Your harps will be fine. Can't speak for the other stuff.
I once played an outdoor gig at the Sturgis bike rally. Night time temps in South Dakota dip into the 40s even in summer. My harp worked fine. I froze and played real tight.

Someone mentioned high basement humidity.
In my career as a piano tech (and piano structure is a lot of wood), I've found that it is the CHANGE in humidity that causes problems. If the environment is constantly humid or constantly dry, there is not much to effect change in the wood, so pianos stay in good tune.
It is when there is fluctuation between humid and dry that you start to see expansion/contraction in wood fibers that lead to tuning and action problems.
I would imagine it is a similar scenario for acoustic guitars. ---------- The Iceman
