Gussow.024 the short story...
A beginners thoughts: The blues had only just struck me when I first came across Adam's vids. I was eager to soak in all the information that I could. All at once. Over a very short period of time, I watched every video. I went right past this one. I told myself, when I saw it then...Damn, I don't know if I can learn how to do THAT!
Today: I played along with it tonight for two hours. I really burned the nuances in all 3 parts, the unscripted emotions in that sweet, sweet music; all of it... I certainly didn't get it all, but more importantly, I felt it in me when I played, for the first time, and it showed. Great woodshed night for Kyzer, and it's exciting to know that, as long as I keep at it, to whatever degree, I KNOW that I can learn how to do THIS!

I'm certainly no beginner - no where near, in fact - but I still think the passages in that video are amongst the most challenging I've ever tried to master.
The last 12 bar that starts at just after 8 minutes is preceeded by the phrase 'Here's simple and then we'll end this lesson.' I know what he means, but that level of control over vibrato and dynamics is anyrhing but simple.
Just take the phrase at 8:57 - 9:05. That vibrato on the 4 draw is no picnic. I can pull it off properly, but only with tons of practice.
Tell me I'm not alone before I throw my harps out of my pram. ---------- YouTube SlimHarpMick
