My girlfriends give me a Behringer EQ700 for christmas, and the pedal arrived two days ago.

Is very usefull in a small tube amp, and you can improve the sound a lot by making small changes. I decided that the EQ is going to be Always ON.

I found this info:

" (...) By this I mean that whilst many people use it as a a volume control & set the level to '0' or even below (to 'balance' volume with the EQ on/off, it is NOT a volume control per-se. It actually controls how much of your EQ'd sound settings come through. Think of it as a tone-tap - set your EQ how you like, and with the level at say -3 for sound-level 'parity' with the unit on/off. Now, raise the level, but reduce your amp volume a little to compensate. What you'll hear is that although you haven't touched the other sliders, your EQ changes are now much more prominent with far greater emphasis eg more bottom -end etc, because the tap is more open. People often make the mistake of ruining perfectly set EQ levels when all they need do is 'open the tap' more ie raise the level."

I have the Boss EQ-7 on my pedal board and use it sparingly, but it is a very good tool with some amps.
