I've been digging some Lazy Lester on Youtube and was wondering what I should get if I wanted one or two of his best albums. Any Lester fans out here?

I really like Lazy Lester Rides Again. It won a Handy in 87 ( best contemporary blues album - foreign. Because it was recorded in UK)

I haven't heard a lot by LL, but I do like this one.

Lazy Lester Rides Again is a great album. I cut my teeth learning lots from that album.. I also agree with BBQ Bob. You can't go wrong with any of Lester's Excello cuts.

Also get the stuff he recorded as a sideman with Lightnin' Slim on Excello as well.

A few of these tunes were covered by The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Each of these are the Excello label originals.

Yep, I've heard most of those gems. Just didn't know which CD to plunk down some dough on.

I interviewed Lester for the college newspaper back around 1990 or so. He couldn't have been cooler to me. Great guy.

The Solo on "I'm So Glad" alone would makes the "True Blues" album a must buy for me.
