Personally, I've had great success with both Weber 10A100 (Kalamazoo and a Champ) and 10a125 (Vibroverb) for harp. And of course it's hard to beat an original 60s Jensen P10R if you can find a good one.

I've had a new Jensen in the Verb as a stop gap. Actually a better speaker than it's given credit for, needs a lot of breaking in, but there are better alternatives.

The 10-inch Webers are good, including their lower-priced Signature series alnico speakers.

I like the harp tone from the 10-inch ceramic Lil Buddy speaker from Eminence. It has a hemp cone and, ahem, a smoky tone.

Don't be afraid to mix speakers up in your amp. You can get great tone from miss-matched speakers.

I haven't heard a lot of 10" speakers, but very happy with the weber 10A125-O in my PR.

SuperBee, that is the speaker I have in my silver face Champ and it sounds great! (Yep, a 10-inch speaker in the Champ amp.)

AS Rick said, don't be afraid to mix speakers. I have a weber smooth and rib speaker in one of my cab, it works well.

One of the biggest problems with speakers is the inclination to evaluate them before they are broken in. A pair of blackbirds for that amp will cost you over $500.

Mixing speakers particularly in a two speaker amp is a great way to get more character from your amp.

I may get some disagreement on this, but, those Italian P10R's are not a bad sounding speaker once broken in. They are capable of producing that great woody tone that the old ones are known for. They are a little less sensitive and slower, which is where the Weber's have all others beat IMO. I have A/B'd all of those P10R type speakers over the past 30 years. Fender and Victoria both use the Sica Jensen's, does anyone really think that these two companies don't care about the tone of their amps? I do like the Weber vintage series better, I do not like the weber signature's nearly as well.

Not knowing what circuit we are talking about it's impossible to make a good specific recomendation IMO.

I think I would consider replacing one speaker with something that would take it in the direction I was wanting to go. If you want more breakup, maybe a Weber with a 1" VC and a smooth cone. If you want better projection and more bass maybe an effecient 1 1/2" or 1 1/4" vc ceramic magnet speaker. It really all comes down to what you have and where you are trying to go. I don't assume we all want the same thing.

harponica, I have not tried the Jensen Jet Tornado speakers but have heard nothing but good things about them. (I gotta order one and try it.) The lighter weight would certainly be cool. Kind of expensive, though...

Jensen P10R speakers take some time to break in. They might sound better after more use. Perhaps you could order a ceramic Signature series speaker from Weber:

https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/csig10s.htm

Pair that with one of the Jensens and see what happens. The Weber Sig is only $32, and cheap speakers sometimes sound cool in harp amps.

I've tried Jensen Jet Tornados.
They're a darker and louder speaker than the P10R.
I have one in my 35 W 2x10 custom amp and it is okey. But with 2 it's just too much of the butter. Mix it with one of the stock jensens and you have a totally new amp with lot of low end and not as harsh as with 2 of P10R

A smooth cone weber 10A125 or a sig10 have more speaker breakup and dirt, but much lower volume.
