Hi folks,
I just wanna inform you about my new project.

http://bluesbooks.blogspot.de/

On this blog I posted the covers of blues books who may be interesting to read/learn more about the blues.

This is no file sharing webiste!

You will find the front AND the back cover of dozens of books just to get more infos. My hope is that you`ll find some books you are looking for a long time or to get fresh into it.
This is no money thing for me. Just passion.

And I keep the pictures big so that you can read the liner notes.

I try to keep this blog updated. A list of all the books which are posted there will follow soon.

Greetings from Muenster/germany

Thanks guys,

I hope the size of the pictures on my blog don`t make you nervous.
BTW: I tried to make a PDF-File. I made it, but is was huge. I think 100 MB! Why? I wanted to make it possible to read each word. When I make too tiny pics it is not possible anymore.

But let me know if a PDF File is okay for you, so that you can keep this Blues-Books-Rock on your PC.

Greetings
Mario

Mario,

Impressive site.

Have you read all these books?

If so, you may be a great resource for blues history.

btw, a PDF File is a cool idea, too.

English is not my natural language. I`m german. I can read english books and I do that for sure. But it costs me double in time. I think I`ve read 80 or 90 of these books. But I would never say that I´m a history guy like Adam. I`m on my way...:-)

Are you american? Why can you speak german?

BTW: a really nice thing about buying old blues books is: you never know what you`ll find between the pages. There is a lot of stuff hidden. Pictures, notes, Postcards....my greatest surprise was the autograph of David Honeyboy Edwards just somewhere in an old blues book.......

To read german books is easy for me. But I have to twist my mind when I do the same with english books.

Ich habe deutscher Abstammung und habe in Heidelberg gewohnte.

I am American and spent time living in Germany in the early 70's - not military, but as a civilian.

Your English is ganz gut!

MarioMS:

My German is still pretty fluent at a daily "hi, how are you doing" level. The first thing to go is my attachment to "der, die oder das". I also speak with a slight southern German accent. When I went to Trossingen, their accent was so southern that I couldn't understand them.

I live in SE Coastal Georgia, 1/2 way between Jacksonville FL and Savannah, GA.

Amazing. Between your site and Adam's new lecture series, dang, I might just start reading a bunch of stuff. Incredible effort on your part. Thank you.

Iceman: I know Trossingen, I´ve been there once. 2001 at the World Harmonica Festival. I met Gary Primich there. He gave a great workshop without the technical stuff. Just he and the harmonica. You can hear some parts of it on youtube. I puth them there, just search Gary Primich.
So you live in Jacksonville - cool area. BTW: I`m coming to USA next April - May. I start with frines in New Orleans and we travel along the Mississippi for the 2nd time. Up to Memphis.

harp-er: Yes, you are right. But believe me. It is just a big coincidence. I didn`t know anything about Adam`s Blues Talk Videos. And to make my blues books blog took me weeks. I`m working on it since summer.
But I`m glad that it fits perfect. this is my way to give something back to the blues community.

Take care
Mario Hemken
