I just stumbled across the video below: Cedell Davis singing, Lightnin' Malcolm playing gittar. Davis was born in 1927, which makes him an elder at this point. I think Malcolm has the perfect touch. This isn't flashy blues; it isn't Stevie Ray, or Robert Cray, or B. B. King's big show. It's just community music--outdoor music for drinking beer to, on a sunny spring day in the Delta. For that reason, this is a priceless little slice of life.

If you're a harp player on the rise, you should jam along to this cut and then show up in Clarksdale in April 2010 the weekend of the planter's festival, and sit in with somebody.

I like The video. I love playing the relaxing side of the harmonica and I can jam with this video and play relaxed at the same time. Thanks for the post!

Lightnin' Malcolm and Cedric Burnside come through B-Ham fairly often. Play out at Gip's quite a bit. Loads of down-homey, butt-shakin' grooves that I love!
