Hi,
I think that the post of the rising cost of harps is more like "the rising cost of harps in U.S.A".
I am curious to know how the market is on other countries (remeber, as Adams says there are 190 countrys in MBH).
The gear cost in Chile:
Shure 520DX: $240 USD
Shure SM58: $140 USD
Xover: $70 USD
MBD: 60 USD
MB, Sp20, GM, MS: 40 USD
Fender 600: $340 USD
VHT Special 6: 320 USD

In the UK the gear cost is:
Shure 520DX - £150 (240 USD)
Shure SM58 - £96 (155 USD)
Hohner Crossover - £45 (72 USD)
MBD - £35 (56 USD)
MB, SP20, GM, - £27 (43 USD)
MS Big River- £19 (31 USD)
Fender 600 - £165 ( 266 USD)

Australian prices:
520 dx is $189 according to pro music australia website
I'm sure I've been asked for more and refused to buy. It's been along time since I was interested though.
Same site says sm58 is $169, or $189 with switch
Crossover is RRP $92 (best price I can find in Oz is $82.80)
MBD is RRP $76 ($67.50)
Sp20, MB, MS $55 ($49.50)
GM $53 ($47.70)
Champ 600 $399
These are Australian $ prices so make that a little more in USD. It's close enough to parity but $100 Aussie is about $105 US

In a french music shop , a SP20 is : 46$ .

i priced a sm58 @ 98$ @guitar center last week.
i buy my harps at rocking rons, they have a price list online.

This is the prices of a cool online store in Russia:
Sp20, GM ~ $33
MBD ~ $50
MBC ~ $65
1847 ~ $85
520DX ~ $230
In other stores it is more expensive.
