Any Morphine fans out there? Mark Sandman ran a project that had a harp player in it, Jim Fitting, the project was called "Sandbox" or something like it. Very cool harp sound.

They were both in Treat Her Right. Jim Fitting is a great harp player. He's "out of the box" IMHO. He has his own unique spin on things. Worth seeking out their records. I like Morphine, too. I think Mark Sandman has passed on. Jim Fitting is in a rootsy old timey acoustic band called Session Americana.

When Treat Her Right disbanded, Jim did some session work and wound up with The The for the "Hanky Panky" album, then back to session work until he formed The Coots. To my knowledge, The Coots are not yet done (but are on hiatus due to Session Americana) and have at least two outstanding releases - "Cootsville" and "The Seventh Dimension".

I used to listen to Morphine a lot back in the day. Love the deep, dark sax and bass lines they used. Mark was a local Boston guy. Unfortunately he collapsed on stage during a European tour and died of a heart attack.
I'm not so sure about Jim Fitting playing with Morphine. He did play w/Treat Her Right, which also featured members of Morphine. "Sandbox" was the name of the Mark Sandman box set but I don't know of any project/band entitled Sandbox. ----------
