Jammed with a couple friends last night, both were very impressed with the modded VHT 6. Just started modding
a second one. Could have sold the first one last night
but that aint gonna happen, Love the power and sound of this tone monster. My friends have an arsenal of top
of the line amps, and both want the VHT 6. We did side by sides with the Harp Gear 2 and the VHT 6 smoked it, in
both tone and volume, at way less than half the price.
We also tested out the Roadhouse Astatic JT 30. All of
us were quite surprised with this mic. For the price it is a very good value. Fun night with friends and fellow musicians, enjoying the music.

Alnicomagnet mod, speaker change out, tube swaps.
The first amp still has the original speaker.

In other words, it's no longer a VHT amp, but rather "an amp" with a VHT logo-lol!

Not sure, the VHT logo is kool, lol.
So is a modded Bassman R.I. still a Bassman? LOL

Probably not to a Guitar player..

I have done the same mods. Which speaker swap are you going for? I took Rick's advice and tried a Eminence Lil Buddy. Out of the box I was a bit disappointed, but within a week or so, it plays in. Very happy now.

Changed the valves, including a 5751.

It's a great combo at a great price.

This one will have the hemp cone Lil Buddy, and a 5751
is what I'm using in the first one.
The original speaker sounds good after it's broke in.
Like you said, a great combo at a great price.
I have a VHT 6 head that will be modded then I want to
try 2 8" speakers and maybe a 10" in a seperate cab.

I don't know what differs a alnico magnet mod and my mod.
I build it lika a princeton clone..
i use a Jensen jet tornado speaker and it made the amp sounding huge and loud.

The Lil Buddy speaker is not very impressive out of the box, the stock one sounds better. Hope it breaks in soon....
