I have uploaded a few pictures to show off Greg's work on the mic he built for me.

It is cocobolo with a stealth volume, piano finish, turner grill and a metal grill screen. I supplied a donor mic for the build (440SL with a 99B86 element)

Just curious, when the grain matchhes, is the volume high, low or in the middle?

The volume is at the highest setting when the grain matches up.

It was a last minute add on, although I will use the volume more as the on/ff switch than for the volume control, but it is good to have to tame any unwanted feedback.

The knob is in fact held on by a set screw so you could set it to line up wherever you want. But I set them up so it lines up when the volume is at full.
