I've started a diary on the harpfriends channel which I'm hoping to add to as I make progress.
There are a lot of things that I need to work on like vibrato, tone, nailing the bends first time, holding with left hand etc. but my first entry is regarding building up my speed.
It's not blues but I thought if I could crack Irish Fiddle speed, the blues would be a breeze. This is about as fast as I can go without too many mistakes and my mouth turning to mush. I have actually done it faster but not when I was recording. I need to double this speed at least before I tackle The Sailor and the Maid. Hope to update with my progress in a month or two. It will be interesting to see if this practice does actually translate into my blues techniques. Can't do any harm and extends my repotoire.
Been playing now for two years and four months so still consider myself a baby player.(Intermediate Beginner?)
Hi MichaelAndrewLo, thanks. Your video was good. Bit faster than me I think.
