Noticed this amp on ebay. It' looks new in the box. Also available on Amazon. Have any forum members taken a test drive?

I haven't driven one of those, but a 5F1 Champ is a great sounding amp.

If you are concerned about the quality, you might want to ask the question on some guitar forums and see what they say? I suspect more of these fall into the hands of guitar players, than harp players. The 5F1 circuit sounds good.

They are PCB construction in the same vein as the Pro Tube Fenders (ribbon cables, tubes mounted into PCB sockets etc. rather than flying leads to discrete tube sockets on the RI Fenders). This is not a reason to avoid them, just be aware of what you are getting into...if you are just going to play it/try swapping 6V6/preamp tubes & speakers, then great...but not an ideal basis for heavy reworking (not that a 5F1 champ should require such). ---------- www.myspace.com/markburness
