I need to get a rotary grinder for tuning, and I need it, like, yesterday. Where can I get one in a pinch? Would they have one at a hardware store, or Home Depot?

Sound like you are after a dremel. Web site lists most hardware/tool store. Check the 'where to buy' tab : http://www.dremel.com/en-us/customerservice/productsupport/wheretobuy/Pages/default.aspx

micro mark has a cool rotary reed tuner $20.00 it will take a few days to get in the mail harbor freight has a rotary tool i got that for ten bucks it is too high rpm as is the dremel i believe
is this for a steel reed? if so it is most likely toast!

Something like this?

It works very well on brass. I reckon you can get them at any hardware store. On Stainless, I use dollar-store emery boards.

It will work fine. It will just wear out faster.

why do you need one in such a hurry?
i have never tuned a steel reed... ok one it was just a few cents flat for my taste
if it went flat it most likely need to be replaced

I use the rotary engravers that are battery powered. I also happen to sell them as a courtesy for customers. Have a few in stock and I think I even have a few interchangeable tips, as well. Pretty much the same as the Harbor Freight variety but a different brand. I think they work great for fine tuning. ---------- Greg Jones 16:23 Custom Harmonicas greg@1623customharmonicas.com 1623customharmonicas.com
