I've learned to mill brass combs, and made some for my Suzuki Manji's. I have a couple friends who want them for Hohner Marine Bands. I know the cover screws and reed plate screw holes will be different, but will a Suzuki comb fit a Hohner?

If I can get philosophical here for a moment, - yes and no. I'll let others go into more detail...

Close but no cigar. It would require a lot of work to shorten the comb and the holes are in exactly the wrong places. If you don't shorten the comb, you will have the comb stick out in a really ugly way in the back. Totally not worth it.

I'm just talking about the slot spacing. I can trim the comb, and I'll be drilling the holes myself. I'll be doing a batch of Suzuki size combs this weekend, and didn't know if I should leave some blanks, or if the slots of a Suzuki match the slots of a Hohner.

If I can resurrect this thread: I have milled a comb sized for a Suzuki Manji. I have not drilled the cover plate screw holes or the reed plate screw holes. I'd like to give one of these combs to a friend who plays Hohner Crossovers. I don't have a Crossover to match the comb to. Will a Marine Band or a Meisterclass comb fit a Crossover?

Marine band & crossover combs have the same size , but i think that holes for the plates and covers are not exactly at the same place , but i suppose it can be done .Meisterclasse is MS , it's not the same size at all .
