"If anyone here doesn't know, Wayne Bennett was Bobby Blands long time guitarist and bandleader, he is responsible for the arrangement of T-bones Stormy Monday that most of us play or have played."

Don't know about that-there are two versions-Hines/Eckstine=1942,and T-Bone Walker=1947. Wayne Bennett was born in 1931. That would make him 16 years old during T-Bones release. He may have played his own style of the song while with Bland, but did notcontribute to the Hines/Eckstine or T-Bone versions.

There were two different versions, and Bland pulled a huge boner when the roylaties credited Hines /Eckstine instead of T-Bone on his version called "Stormy Monday Blues"-T-Bones version was actually named "Call it Stormy Monday,But Tuesday Is Just As Bad"-to avoid conflict of interest with Hines/Eckstines "Stormy Monday Blues".

The version Bland recorded mirrored the T-Bone version, but was credited improperly to Hines/Eckstine.

@ The Walk

My favorite part is hearing the band stumble around a bit before dropping into and locking the groove. Been there many times...it's fun.
