Of my own free will, and without consulting Isaac, I've made a decision to lower prices at the MBH CafePress store for the second half of this two-week introductory period.
Starting immediately, and lasting until I get back home next Tuesday evening, prices on ALL items in the MBH CafePress store have been set at $1 over cost. When I say "$1 over cost," I mean $1 over the base price set by Cafe Press. I make $1 per item.
If you're one of the five people who have purchased an item or two at the slightly higher prices that have prevailed until now, I'll be happy to send you digital products from the MBH/tradebit store equivalent to the overage you've paid, if you request that.
Here's the link:
http://www.cafepress.com/shopmbh
Given the many people who contributed to the MBH products thread, I'm a little surprised at how few of you have actually purchased. Then again, I suspect you're a little surprised at the Cafe Press prices--as am I. Obviously it would have been great if we could have done all this out of the back of a 1972 Dodge Station wagon. The t-shirts would have been cheaper, and the water bottles wouldn't cost $25. (The Cafe Press water bottle must be a hell of a water bottle.)
In any case, I'm doing this because I believe in serving the community here and I don't want any of you to think Isaac and I are profiteering.
One week from today, we'll boost the prices back up.
Cheers, Adam

Adam, I will eventually purchase a shirt, but am tapped out just now. It's clear that your markup is reasonable, whether it be $1 or $3 or $5 it matters not to me. Thanks for spelling out how this store works. Thanks also for your efforts, Adam and Isaac.

I would agree that the prices are not the reason I haven't bought anything yet. Late July/August is bad timing for my wallet. The only T-shirts I'm buying right now are for my kid's back to school wardrobe. Maybe next month I'll buy myself a birthday present.

The good news: I was one of the first 5 to purchase some merch. By the way, I don't care about the 'savings', something like $3 total? I spent what I thought it was worth to me at the time.
The bad news: I just checked my order and I don't think the shirts will arrive before the Portsmouth show this Friday. See you then, Doc!

Adam, Would it be a good Idea to put a link to the Cafe-press store on the home page. I want to check out the new prices and don't know how to get there other than dig through the old threads to find the original link. Or did I miss something? Also might mention it in a news letter.

I wasn't someone who participated in talking up the merchandise, but I've just bought that devilish little "blue third" shirt. I'd say I did it to support Adam's and Isaac's efforts, especially in light of Gussow's latest gesture, but in fact, it's also a bloody nice shirt.
Gentlemen, thanks and congratulations.

Adam,
Nice thing to do. Question - How much free stuff have you put out on the net for harp players? How much of a resource is this web site? I got a 44 minute video lesson on Junior Wells "Messin with the kid" for 5 bucks. 44 minutes. Tee shirts fine at any price given what you do. Discount nice of you.
See you tomorrow in Philly.

"i dont buy water, let alone a container for it!"
haha
"does anybody know the deliver time on an order? "
depends on how much you pay for shipping. standard is like $5 something an takes a few weeks. next one up is $7 something an takes a week. i picked the $7 one. i dont like waiting for things. im stupid though. i ordered that. then i ordered a jason ricci shirt. but i did it seperate so had to pay for shipping twice. then i rememebered that i wanted a MBH sticker too but im not paying for shipping a 3rd time. maybe later when i order another shirt.

$50 is chump change. Another way of saying I do not make a liveing playing music.
Actually, I COULD NOT make a living playing music. Would likely be shot first with my ability.

Well, I wanted to buy one, I really did. But surely after confirming my order my card gets declined...ugh. Nothing was incorrect in my information and I have plenty of money left in my checking account..
I hate sites that don't do Paypal, I don't understand why it isn't standard by now for all online purchase sites.
Maybe I'll try again at a later date but I don't know. ---------- Michael

if you want, i will get a sticker and put it in the mail. it has to be cheaper than their s&h.
"Another way of saying I do not make a liveing playing music." funny stuff, djm.

I agree with Dan: "How much free stuff have you put out on the net for harp players?" I never really buy stuff like that, I'm pretty minimalistic, in an almost Ghandiesque kind of way, but I'd be glad if I thought you made a few bucks out of it. ---------- 'If it sounds GOOD to you, it's bitchen; if it sounds BAD to YOU, it's shitty' - Frank Zappa

Ordered a couple of tee shirts, used standard delivery, like jon recommended, seems like the best deal. Glad to support MBH, it's the best harp forum I've seen.
