Thought I was doing a favour when I asked a busker who was playing harp rather badly if he was interested in some tuition. He said he was not, and that he also taught harp to others. Ah, oh. Clearly he thought he was pretty damn good. I can see my approach from his angle and that I could have come across as pretty arrogant, but my intention was to help out. Anyway, I'll pull my head in next time.

Yikes! @Leather, i know that you meant well, but going up to someone who is playing any instrument in public and offering them lessons could be construed as the ultimate insult and in some situations lead to your cojones being removed...

If he's playing harmonica in the street, I am sure he's heard it all before.

It's interesting how the best of intentions can be misinterpreted. I know for example, that I'm not a great vocalist and if someone heard me and offered to give me some tuition I would jump at the opportunity. There's always the other angle too, that I could think there's nothing this person can teach me. Anyway, I've done my defensive bit and I'll leave it at that.
