Does anyone have any experience with one of these amps as a harp amp? I've seen a couple on Ebay and through Surf City Amps. Thanks. Rich

yeah, they're tricky with feedback. And hard to get good tone and crunch. What are you after? Are you gigging? in a band? Sittin in on open mic nights? don't do it. Get something smaller, lighter, and more portable.

Why is it that we all just can't get along?<

I have one on a shelf somewhere. Mine is really clean and pretty loud. I haven't messed with tubes, Mojo may be right, puts out too much power to break up easily.

I owned one briefly. Very heavy and dry tone. There are better choices out there...

Thanks guys - I'll cross this one off my list. To answer Mojo - I am starting to play at open mics and jams and am exploring different ways to go. I have a Brugera V5 which I really like and may just mic it to the PA where I can, or buy a powered speaker. However, as a number of you have advocated on another thread I started about loud jams, a louder amp might be simpler - particularly for jams. So I am looking around and asking questions.
As long as I am asking questions I have another one. I have several mics - a Red Howler, an Astatic 200 and a Shure PE 585. I usually use the Astatic and it seems to work well with the Brugera. However, I noticed that I could turn the amp - both gain and volume - up higher with the Shure without any feedback issues. Just wondering why? Also, pro and cons about either mic with this type of amp.
Thanks again. Rich

Rich, your little Bugera amp has a "PHONES" jack for headphones out. You can use that as a line out to the PA at your jams. Just use a regular guitar cable to connect to the LINE input in one of the PA channels. But, as we discussed in the other thread, you may have problems hearing yourself. Ask the Jam Masta to put you in the monitors just a bit.
Using the line out is way easier than mic'ing the amp up, and will sound just as good in a jam setting.

Thanks Rick - I'll try that. Now just to make sure I know what I am doing. The speaker out line is powered and should not be used (except to passive speakers) as it will fry a powered speaker or PA, right? The headphone jack, on the other hand, is okay.
