Fair dinkum, i brought 2 from musician friend for 100 bucks, BOTH mic cords are shithouse, made in china, by some cheap shitty factory, i've ordered a new cable and attachments for them from Greg and they're on their way now, he must be glad they make poor quality cables and i hope he make a squillion bucks from this crap. Really the mics seem ok but the cables are just so pissweak, i haven't moved 2 feet from the pc and all they do is buzz and crackle....BUYERS BEWARE!!!!

That's been kind of a well known issue with those mics. I think most people buy them knowing the cables are worthless but the mics are worth the money anyway.

A related problem is that the quality control on their connectors sucks - and some are 0.010" too big in diameter - which means a genuine Switchcraft connector MIGHT not fit - and that is what I and every other "good" cable maker use. If a new cable doesn't fit, the connector has to be turned down with a proper 5/8-27 die, or replaced with a genuine Switchcraft connector. ---------- /Greg

I didn't buy the mic for the cable. I expect it to fail at some point. The connector on my mic is slightly oversize, but the adapter fits on my mic. I didn't expect the highest quality out of a mic and cable that cost $50 new.

I've been using my JT30 with the cable it came with for about six months now with no problems. It's a fine mike with a good, rasty tone and the cable, so far, is working just fine. Of course, your mileage may vary. ---------- Ted Burke http://youtube.com/watch?v=-VPUDjK-ibQ&feature=relmfu ted-burke.com tburke4@san.rr.co,

If your talking about the "blues blaster" or the "roadhouse". The only value is the shell to fit a shure element in it.
The cable, volume control and element is junk.
There's tons of better option for harmonica mic in that price range.
Ask Dave at http://www.harpmicshop.com he got some old sonotone and stuff for around the same price. Fitted with proper connector and customized for harmonica.

@ $50 new,. you can not expect a $200 Mic ,. As theoburke says it's a fine mic till it dies ,. Then sink a Lil' Cash in it for a CM-CR and a 2501MP. Presto ya have a JT-30 look alike . ----------
