Hi Guys, Once again my lovely daughter has made me a proud dad, she has been picked to travel to Ghana in Africa next year to help aid workers over there building a community health center.
We have to raise the money for the trip so I'm looking for some ideas, I have done this sort of thing before but new ideas are always a big help so if you've tried something that worked well please tell me about it and I'll give it a go.
We need to raise £1,500.00 for the trip, which should be doable anything over will go into the charity running the project.
Cheers folks, All the best Geordie.

You contact your friends and family and ask them to go on the trip, too. Really really bug them about it and tell them it would be wonderful to have them go along.
Explain how it will be a life-changing experience.

Of course, they will all have 100 excuses why they can't go, but that's when you say.. "well, if you can't go with her, could you at least kick in some cash"

4 trips to Mexico and 3 to Haiti.. Love serving the Lord in foreign countries but couldn't do it without the blessing of friends and a few harmonica sales!

Get a big cardboard box and decorate it like a juke box. Sit in it with your head poking out the top. When someone puts a £1 coin in, play a little tune on your harp. (Amped of course). Goes down well in markets etc.

I used to work in banking and they had a sponsor match scheme, which meant they would match whatever you raised, hence doubling your funds. So if you're employed by a large business they may have something similar, they may not broadcast it though so you might have to snoop a bit.

I've done a bunch of running for charity which was good for raising funds so check out for a local race (great north run) and give it a go. Only works so often though, once you've done a few marathons no one is impressed by a 10k, so choose wisely.

Also get her to set up a just giving account and post about it on the forum to drum up some support.

Oh almost forgot, go busking :o)

Best of luck
Greg
