I opened up the 'Favourite Tone / Sound' thread and did not expect it to be for listing the *person* who you thought had the best tone etc.

So I thought I'd make this one, although I wasn't sure what to title it! Hopefully you will all get my intention.

The things that I particularly love to hear in harp playing are:

- Heavily vibratoed octaves.
- Repeated single notes and drones.
- Slow descending / ascending repeated riffs.

What do other people like to hear?

I'm starting to really appreciate the "vocal" effects, e.g. scoops, bends down from major to "blue" notes, wahs. Sonnyboy II's playing is a great example of what I mean. Lots of begging and pleading going on. Adam would lump these together as microtonal effects, I believe.

Vocal yells between phrases can be pretty cool.
