I can see where J.Popper got his mic idea from the first video.

I thought this might generate more interest. Maybe I shouldn't have included so many videos.

Or maybe it was my typo in "Acadian".

Anyway, at least check out Isom J. Fontenot in the third video. He was Jerry Devillier's mentor.

An insight into another harp tradition.

I dig the louisana cajun sound. There was a lot of that around Houston when I first moved to Tx and found it up in Austin. Here is a song I did recently that is directly influenced by this stuff but I am rock and roller from NJ that never knew such stuff existed until I was well into my early 20's. It all gets mixed up and comes out this way. Enjoy some NJ Fused Cajun Bayou music feaaturing an open door harps custom harp in some key! Walter

Yeah! I really like the Cajun Harmonica sound. I spent a few hours with Jerry at this latest SPAH and learned a bunch about playing this music and its origins. The song called Jai Passe Dons La Porte, from the 2nd to last video in the OP, is just one of the bunch of songs I've worked on with him and continue to mess around with. What's pretty cool is when the accordion gets expanded in the music the harmonica also does draw cords and when the accordion gets collapsed the harmonica does blow chords.

BronzeWailer: Thanks for the compliment! Ever since I started playing music I felt I captured the sound I was after from my favorite artists but when I got to hear the songs back I realized how off center I am. I still hear my music this way as I play and also still hear how off center I am on playback. I use to be ashamed of not being able to perfectly recreate when I was starting out because everyone that was on the big blues stages was doing recreations for the most part and I wanted to be on those stages. I eventually got on them with my warped sound :-) I also now realize that what I feel is their spirits in me. Most people go for the mathmatical equation with capturing a sound. I tap into their spirits with no concern for the math side and then it filters through me and comes out as it does. Walter
