Hi MBHers
I recently got my hands on a VHT special 6 Ultra Head and a 1 x 12 Cab with celestion Greenback.
Amp was completely stock outside of the 2 pre amp tubes which I swapped with a couple of JJ's 12AT7's
Tested it rehearsal last night and the little monster blew me away.
I was impressed with the amount of bottom end it can put out whilst still being able to give plenty of headroom.
I would confidently use this in lieu of my 68 Super Reverb at gigs... and its only 6 watts.
Im wondering if anyone else has tried them out and what you think about them.
I personally think they're the best amps out there and challenge anyone to find a better amp for the same price range.

hey Big feller, how'd you get hold of one in Oz? On ebay with shipping it looks about $480 just for the head, I expect the speaker and cab would be at least a hundred or so more. Then there's the issue of a transformer to run it on 240V.
God damn we pay a lot for amps in oz! ---------- Lucky Lester

Hey Lester.
My good friend is the Brand manager for VHT and Zoom in Australia.
There is a new shipment coming in 3-4 weeks. Will also be new stock of the new VHT 12/20 Amp which looks freaking amazing. This is the best stuff to come out for Harp players in Oz for a long time. Good quality, Harp friendly Hand wired amps that dont cost an arm and a leg and can be sourced locally.
