Gee i'm pi#@ed off, i brought 2 on special for 100 bucks. I read the reviews and the mic cable seemed to have several negative comments about wires inside breaking, well lucky i have 2 because one of them just "fizzed out".
I'll get a proper one from the music store soon but as the product is made in good ol'e China you kind of expect crap like this, .....hope someone takes notice and lifts thier game eh?.

Stan I can't for the life of me understand why companies like Hohner insist on trying to save a few bucks with a product liike that. They need to understand that the customer is more than willing to pay a few extra dollars to avoid those kind of problems. I mean how much more would it have cost to include a decent cord for heaven's sake? I bought one of these mikes too and the first order of business was to buy a 1/4 inch adapter from Greg Heumann so I could use any one of several guitar cords I have laying around. A ompany's reputation is everything and Hohner you're losing yours.

The cable is very poorly made. There is nothing to prevent the cable from spinning inside the spring at the sceew-on connector. That means, UNLESS you are extremely careful to PREVENT any twisting stress there, it will either wrap the shield around the center conductor, or sever one or the other. When I make cables I take a number of steps to prevent this problem - the Hohner cables takes ZERO.
In your working cable, suggest you use some good electrical tape and wrap the cable and spring so they are tied together. That should help that cable last longer.
Be especially careful when you coil your cable. Disconnect it from the mic 1st, and hold it by the cable, not the connector. ---------- /Greg

This morning I removed the threaded connector from one of my favorite lifetime warranty cables. I then removed the threaded connector from the RH mic. I used a dremel tool to remove some material from the base of the RH connector-with the material removed,I was able to slide the RH connector over the male end of the cable, and slide it all the way to the female end. Now i can use my best screw on cable with the Road House mic. Also-if I want I can remove the connector, and use it to replace the current connector on any of my 1/4 inch adapters for guitar cables.

i won't buy mics from china along with many other items. some things i have little choice about but with skilled and affordable guys here in the states making quality products, it's really easier and cheaper to get it right the first time. Greg did a mic for me some time back with a screw on to 1/4" female and i have had ZERO trouble out of that mic. and total excellent performance. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene
