Hi. I am fine tuning the gapping on my Seydel Solist Pro after changing the tuning to Power Chromatic (like Power Bender except the low octave has the Power Bender arrangement also). I moved the higher notes down a bit (up to 10 semitones) with solder.
The #10 draw is an E which was lowered 5 semitones. When I bend it down to E flat, it snaps to the lower note instead of bending smoothly. And the note is flatter than it should be.
Does anyone have a thought about this ? Thanks.

I've solved the "which came first - the chicken or the egg?" controversy.
It's the chicken, of course, cause it's hard to imagine God sitting on an egg. ---------- The Iceman

Well if the egg came out of Chuck Norris, God could probably sit on it. ---------- Since I learned to overblow, I don't use my car horn so much any more.

I read a book about him. Rough childhood, abusive alcoholic father. Most people aren't up to the intense inner work it takes to get over that stuff. I hear a lot of pain when he talks and expresses his worldview. I wish him well.
So no one has every heard a reed snap to a lower pitch instead of bending ? Maybe I have invented something. Excuse me while I go patent it.

I have a heck of a time getting the 10 blow bend to work on most harps. I either get nothing, or it snaps down a half step. I don't know what the physics of this is but I expect technique has a lot to do with it.
