I am sitting here at peace today. I have come to peace with the music world. I have surrendered to the the fact that music, to be accepted by sociiety up to this point, has to be repeated. The entire premise of the music concept in our culture is based on repeating songs.

I am a pioneer that may or may not be accepted in my lifetime. I use to see this as a win/lose thing. Win meant I get to play gigs to people that dig Spontobeat and to lose meant I didn't play gigs. I fought for over 20 years to make Spontobeat known by booking myself around the world. I thought this meant making it with my music.

Today I realize making it with my music means being able to play it without battles. I no longer need to prove anything. Proving things has gotten to be a waste of energy and life is too short to be wasting this priceless commodity. Music has guided me to this place and I have faith it will continue to guide me to the right places so as to be able to continue to create my music in peace. We all have to live in our own skin and it can take a lifetime to be ok with this. I am thankful to be arriving at this spot and still be alive.

The struggles were wonderful experiences but struggles are no longer part of my needs. Also the insecurities/addictions/disorders that dominate the music world from musicians, industry people, and many listeners, create a disharmony in ones soul. I have learned to avoid this scene and yet still am able to make as much music or more than I did when I was playing town to town. The many days I spent with the blues masters were precious. They taught me much about life and thier own personal shortcomings. Like a child in a dysfunctional family, I work hard to heal my scars from my musical upbringing. What all this has resulted in is - I have made it! I need no band, no pro studio, no club, to make my music satifying to my soul. Music has guided me to going back to the 1 man band format and to persue my lifelong dream of having my own studio. Yet when good vibes call me out to play live I am there without past musical dysfunction baggage. I wish upon everyone to follow their dreams blindly. Let go of worries, fears, and let the joy of the journey guide you. You will always arrive at a better place each time. Here are some songs from today. Walter
