This is almost too painful to watch!

I live less than an hour away and could not make it again this year!
It looks awesome - as usual..

Maybe next year...

I went to the Bean Blossom Blues Festival for the first time this year, camping out in the hilly woodland campground. The performances were great! I was surprised by the apparent preferred mode of transportation at this event: golf carts. I walked...

I took up eharp on the invitation he made on this forum (http://www.modernbluesharmonica.com/board/board_topic/5560960/4173071.htm), and dropped by Cabin 12. Eric, Harmonica Bruce, Jim McBride (Bottle 'O Blues mics), and many others from neighboring cabins hosted wonderful jam sessions, with a huge rhythm section playing a variety of drums, spoons, washboards, etc; multiple guitars and Dobros; and of course a lot of harp playing. Harmonica Bruce taught a group lesson on playing spoons that really filled out the rhythm section for jams. He also played a bass/chord harp. Jim was the default bass player and played bass ukulele most of the time, with occasional breaks for some fine harp playing. The jam group performed on stage on Saturday afternoon.

John Hall, Ronnie Shellist, Jason Ricci, and Brandon Bailey all did varying harmonica workshops. P.T. Gazell also was around and had some Gazell method harps, though I don't know if he did a workshop. Ronnie, PT, and Jason all made appearances at the Cabin 12 jams.

I had a great time at the Bean!

Thanks for the invitation, Eric!

i dont think anyone recorded his last song on saturday night at cabin 12.

he came to the jam feeling good and didnt do much except laugh and joke and smoke for a while.
he then got pushed into a song. wasnt his best. may not have been the best of the jammers.
but he came back with one that was over the top! he twisted it into wolf's going down slow.
and that was only a touch better than ronnie shellist kicking out eyesight to the blind at another camp jam.
and i forget what songs pt gazell jammed on during friday night's cabin 12 jam!

He plays it backward in his mouth? I find that hard to swallow. Just kidding, I like his harp and balloon trick.

Wow for the first time in a while Jason truly looks like he is having a great time performing. Watching some of even the other recent videos you can see he is there but it often seemed you could tell he had his mind on his difficulties. this one he looks like he is just having a good time and letting the music go.

I got to hang out with Harminica Bruce a bunch at HCH1. That guy can do insane stuff with the harp. Everyone got a kick out of the stuff he could do including the backwards harmonica thing.

Jason the harmonica player is amazing and has great showmanship. Jason the man is a nice, down to earth person, the kind of person you would welcome as a friend.
