Hi,

Ihave a ceramic element, and it came whit a gasket. The thing is that the gasket smell really bad.

Can I remove the element from the gaket? what is the gasket for anyway?

The gasket has 3 purposes:

1) Hold the element securely - fit to the shell
2) Provide shock absorption
3) Provide acoustic isolation front to rear.

Yes, you need a gasket!
