Which do you think would be a better harp amp and which one would be more valued?

I have a chance to pick up a 55-56 Gibson GA-30 2 tone with a 12" and 8" speaker or a 60's Magnatone 415 with 4x8 speakers?

Price is about the same on both? Which is preferred for harp and which would you choose? Which one would be more valuable?

Way too many questions but quick impression -I love the GA 30 for harp. One of the best I've ever heard, I've heard weak ones too though. 4-8's with the Magnatone could gig.

i would be leaning towards the gibson
a 12 and an 8?
i have a 415 magnatone
which is very nice.
it is a very rare hard to find amp
it has not been serviced
in so long i cant remember.
so it is not sounding the best it can right now
someone on here has the same amp with a 15
i can only imagine what they would sound like together

I have the Mag with a 15 and it is a killer!! Serious, serious verve in a wooden cabinet that you could throw off a roof without hurting the amp. Since I now use my Kinder Soulful for shows mine is for sale (but passively in this market since it is so dependable) Here is the youtube for my exact (not one like it but this filmed one which I bought off Mark) Magnatone.....Imo: Either amp will be sonically superlative. My best. Video of amp url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdDNYk_sJZo

I just briefly played through my buddies GA-30. I was expecting it to be better than it was. I still believe it has potential to be a really good harp amp though. The 12 & 8 should be a good combo - and most of the gibsons can work pretty well for harp.

You should plug in with your mic.s and play them. Not shure of the values - I'll look up if I get a chance - search closed auctions on flea-bay to see yourself what they've been going for.
