Loved this album since I picked it up in the mid 90s Paul Black and the Flip Kings - King Dollar. It was on the short-lived House of Blues label, which recorded some excellent and off-beat albums before suddenly folding
Andy Linderman on harp - listen to how he meshes with the slide guitar, shapes the tones, hits the blue notes.. just perfect accompaniment playing
Being a big fan of slide guitar,Mr Black really delivers.Westside's harp is a sound I strive for,but ain't there yet, tone from way deep.and like greg said tasty phrasing.Pat Ramsey Blues disciples do this tune also, but more lighthearted. Thanks for the post Gambler.
As a huge Paul Black fan... I instantly became a fan of Westside Andy's playing. That CD is so beautifully recorded, Andy has tone & chops for dozens (as they say in KY). ---------- Cole Stevens www.colestevens.net
