You'll need to make sure you have the right link, but if you were able to post a picture from dropbox you've already figured that part out.

You'll need to cut and paste this code into the box-

<embed src="http://www.abc.com/anySoundfile.mp3" width="350" height="40" autostart="false" type="audio/mpeg" loop="false"></embed>

Then replace the part between the first set of quotation marks (the http://wwww.abc.com/anySoundfile.mp3 part) with your file's url. That should work for dropbox. For Sound Cloud you have to click around a bit. I don't remember exactly where it is, but you want something like 'embed' or bbcode. If you post the link I can try to track it down for you. :)

For dropbox i managed to post it as a link but couldn't get it to embed. If that's ok with you there's a how to on the Forum how to.

Looks like Bokencomputerblues knows one or two things about HTML... Great :D!

1847, if you post the dropbox link I can HTMLify it so it posts as a player.

Pistolcat, it's me (nacoran). My computer is broken and my password safe is unaccessible, so I had another mod approve a new ID for me. (It's a pain to reset passwords. Hopefully I'll be able to retrieve the data in a few days and get back to normal.) :)

Me, too. But now I get it. Kind of devious having a secret handle as a backup. You can easily go dr Jekyll and mr Hyde.

1847, there are a couple ways to resize an image. You can actually resize the image on your computer in any image editing software, or you can use HTML.

Here's a link to a page that shows the html:

http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/html/image-tag.html

You can adjust the size by changing the numbers. I think you can fit about 420 across without forcing the page to scroll. You should also be able to do it like this:

http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-8547.html

I don't remember if both ways work with our software. Usually I'd do a quick cut and paste test but I'm using a laptop and I'm terrible at cut and paste with a touch pad.

Pistol, I didn't actually have this as ap backup. I had to submit and get approved, which meant I had to contact one of the other admins, since I'm usually the one who approves the applications. Right now I have access to hotmail (I remembered that password) and Facebook (I reset that one using my hotmail!) and Fark, which I could remember because I could never get it to save my password. The worst part is I've had renovation done on my apartment and somewhere along the way all my system restore disks disappeared, so I'm waiting for a new set to arrive in the mail. Still, it's cheaper than taking it to the shop. It was sloppy of me not to have my password safe backed up on a thumb drive.
