Does anyone know of any good Minor Blues tunes? Has any of the old guys done tunes like that?

I discovered this recently and I've been listening to it almost everyday for a week!

There's so many things he's doing that I think is very cool I don't even know where to start.

That's harmonicarl--he has a lot of goood stuff up--this is a third position done on a C harp--he's very good at it.

For more of the "old guys" doing this kind of thing, you might check out some cuts by George "Harmonica" Smith--I think he's kind of the avowed master of blues in 3d position--although his doesn't usually sound so minor. . .

That was great. I just cannot get enough of minor key blues.I don't know why there is not more of them. Does anyone know how he did that trick at around 2:08. It was like a really quick vribrato. Again, Awesome

Good player, but he seems way out of sync with the backing track. IMHO

@tuckster: really? I thought completely opposite. He was exactly on track with the BT and he knew exactly what he was doing reflecting the changes and mood ... that's what I thought anyway.

why do you think otherwise? I'd like a peak from the other perspective.

His timing is fine, but I think he goes outside of the 12 bar structure. In other words-he overplays. I think ,for me,as a minor blues,I'd play it a lot sparser-leave a lot more space. It hits home for me because I'm guilty of the same thing, although not as well played,to be sure.

I agree with Tuckster.

As for tongue-rolls (or rolling your R's), I've been trying for 40 years, and I still can't do it!
