That's harmonicarl--he has a lot of goood stuff up--this is a third position done on a C harp--he's very good at it.
For more of the "old guys" doing this kind of thing, you might check out some cuts by George "Harmonica" Smith--I think he's kind of the avowed master of blues in 3d position--although his doesn't usually sound so minor. . .
That was great. I just cannot get enough of minor key blues.I don't know why there is not more of them. Does anyone know how he did that trick at around 2:08. It was like a really quick vribrato. Again, Awesome
@tuckster: really? I thought completely opposite. He was exactly on track with the BT and he knew exactly what he was doing reflecting the changes and mood ... that's what I thought anyway.
why do you think otherwise? I'd like a peak from the other perspective.
His timing is fine,but I think he goes outside of the 12 bar structure. In other words-he overplays. I think ,for me,as a minor blues,I'd play it a lot sparser-leave a lot more space. It hits home for me because I'm guilty of the same thing,although not as well played,to be sure.
