I am usually very careful about what I purchase on large online websites (whose name sounds like a jungle). But I was given a gift certificate, so I ordered me a Promaster Valved.
After a few months of trying, I wondered if some of the choking and squealing was actually not my fault, and perhaps the instrument needed a little adjustment. For sure the 3 and 4 blow interval needed tuning.
So when I called up Suzuki, they were going to take a look until I revealed the reseller I bought it from. They claimed to have a dispute with this reseller so they do not honor any warranties on instruments from them. (Reseller knows nothing about this).
Ironically, the reseller offered me a full refund, on a harmonica no less ! I would direct Suzuki to take some customer service lessons here. Suzuki has great people representing them in public forums, but some of the execs need a little education it seems.
Conclusion: In addition to Suzuki's published warranty terms, they may also refuse to warranty your instrument if they have a dispute with your retailer. Hope this is helpful, especially when spending $100 or more.
Cheers.
---------- Since I learned to overblow, I don't use my car horn so much any more.
