I LOVE the Tech 21 Sansamp pedals. I've had the Blonde, Bass DI, and the Para DI. The Para DI is the most underrated pedal I've ever played. You can get tones for literally anything from it.

Well, it runs $210 new and is hard to find used (I scored mine for $135 after months of searching).

Turns out Behringer makes a knock off for only $40! The AD21 is the same "Acoustic" DI...you see, the Para was once called the Acoustic DI, but since it's selling point is a sweepable parametric EQ for the mids, and it rocks for electric sounds, it was renamed.

The controls and in/out puts are the exact same. The physical design is diferent, but it gives you the same options.

I put together a board that will cover 90% of my gigs - Line 6 M9 and the AD21. I will have that at SPAH with my Boomerang for the seminar I am doing with Brandon Bailey.

Another sleeper pedal is the US6000 (I think that is the name...it is a pitch shifter). It is polyphonic and compares to a Micro POG. It isn't quite as good, but it is less than 1/3 the cost.

Mike, I'm still trying to decide on a straight to PA system. What's your thought on the ADI-21 compared to a Harp Break.

I think with the Harp Break I'll want to carry a separate DI just incase and it looks like this may eliminate that need.

I had a Break but never bonded with it. I just really like the flexibility and range of tones of the Tech stuff. We'll see how the AD21 compares, but just the cost is worth trying it.

Would this pedal be for clean type tones only or would you be able to dial up some dirt with it (I use a 545sd)? What about the Behringer BDI21 Bass Amp Modeler in comparison? Not much to lose at those prices so I'm tempted to give one of them a try. The only Behringer product I've ever owned before is a little 6 channel mixer I bought about 10 years ago. It's still going strong and has never given me a bit of trouble.

Most interesting. I've been looking for a set-up that I could easily sit in with. So an Ult57, lone wolf delay and an AD21 could be a nice option? Relies on the PA, of course, but otherwise plug and play.

Any thoughts on an Ultimate 57, Lone Wolf delay and the ADI as straight-to-PA set-up? I had to know so I'll have the ADI soon.
I'd REALLY appreciate any suggestions on how to wire this set-up from the mic to the PA. My 57 is low impedance.
