Flavio Guimaraes is a superb, traditional blues player from Brazil.
Carlos del Junco was born in Cuba and emigrated to Canada.

here is one of my austin buddies many don't know about. Hook and I were way off the mainstream. That created kinship. We both were crazy about playing and lived anyway we could. I played one of the coolest clubs on earth - los padrinos in san antonio. 3 sisters owned it. They would feed you and the place was 200 people strong wall to wall and not a one spoke much english. All were Mexican and they loved the blues. I remember one night walking the club playing my guitar and I admired this guys boot tips. He pulled a buck knife off his hip, disconnected them from his boots and put them on mine while I was playing. Then the priest from the church next store would come in and ask to use the mic. He would ask all to come to church the next morning and would then drink beer with us all till closing. It was a crazy. The Mexicans can make a place more electric than anybody if they dig you.
