after changing out a big river comb to wood,I have been unsuccessful getting the cover plates back on...unlike sp20s which have a clover nut the BR have a nut on the bottom cover plate that the top screws go into like a sleeve...I have never seen a setup like this...any help?

1.Are the screw holes in the wood comb the same size so the sleeve fits? 2.Do the holes line up with the old plastic comb holes? 3. Is the wood comb the same thickness? If all of that is good, line up 1 cover hole with the reed plate hole and drop the sleeve in. Next, put your finger over the sleeve head and hold it snug as you turn it upside down. Now you can set the other cover on and wiggle the screw in till you feel it hit the sleeve. Then use the screwdriver while keeping pressure on the sleeve so it doesn't spin. I have put wooden blues harp combs on big rivers and used the big river screws. If your comb was made for a big river those screws should work.

The screws and sleeves are the same on the MS harps. I have found that patience is your best reward. If you are trying the thread the screw into the sleeve which has been fully inserted into the hole, it can be challenging. Try inserting the screw into he hole and the thread the sleeve onto the screw.

You'll get used to it with practice, but it can be quite awkward at first.
